The table below shows the EN ISO 21420 standard's guidelines for the different glove sizes assigned to the respective hand sizes. Lahti Pro brand protective gloves provide the user with an optimum hand fit, guaranteeing both safety and great comfort of use.
MATERIAL PROPERTIES
WORKSHOP GLOVES MADE OF SYNTHETIC LEATHER
Synthetic leather is a material characterised by its durability and resistance to wear. Gloves made of synthetic leather generally have numerous reinforcements and/or cushions to protect against pressure and vibration, as well as a Velcro welt. Their durability, comfort of use and excellent feel for the object in hand mean that these gloves are very often used in car workshops and are therefore commonly known as workshop gloves. However, they are also very popular in the transport industry, in warehouse work and in all kinds of leisure activities.
GLOVES MADE OF GENUINE LEATHER
Gloves made of genuine leather show high resistance to abrasion and tears. They also have good breathability. They provide maximum comfort and good grip, satisfying even the most demanding users. Owing to their rich utility properties, leather gloves are used in numerous industries, such as construction, transport, automotive, and agriculture.
LATEX-COATED GLOVES
Latex is the most commonly used material for the coating of protective gloves. Gloves coated with latex, or made of it, are characterised by high flexibility, even at low temperatures, high tear resistance and perform well even in the harshest weather conditions. The enormous versatility of latex, as well as its relatively low cost of production, means that latex gloves are used for example on construction sites, in warehouses, in the transport industry, in agriculture, in the home and in the garden.
INSULATED GLOVES
Insulated gloves, are designed for work in harsh weather conditions, including cold temperatures. Their coating lends them versatility, and the blend of synthetic fibres, which do not absorb water and retain heat, protects the wearer from cold, rain, snow, as well as wind. Insulated gloves are used on construction sites, in the transport industry, in cold stores, among others.
NITRILE-COATED GLOVES
The nitrile used in Lahti Pro brand gloves is a synthetic rubber compound consisting of acrylonitrile and butadiene, which does not contain latex proteins. The combination of these two ingredients creates a material that is flexible and highly abrasion resistant, while providing excellent resistance to unleaded petrol, diesel, hexane, paraffin. It also provides excellent protection against oils and greases. Nitrile-coated gloves are often used in the transport and automotive industries, as well as in agriculture and horticulture. They are also an excellent alternative for people who are allergic to latex.
GLOVES COATED WITH POLYURETHANE (PU)
Polyurethane is a material with very high elasticity and high abrasion and tear resistance. These properties make it ideal for the manufacture of gloves with a thin, yet highly durable coating. Polyurethane gloves provide their wearers with a high level of dexterity and an excellent feel for the object they are holding, making them ideal for jobs that require a high level of precision. These gloves are often used by, for example, mechanics, warehouse workers and homeowners.
PVC COATED GLOVES
PVC-coated gloves are characterised by excellent resistance to grease, oils, fats, mild cleaning agents and water, among other things, and also perform relatively well at low temperatures. They are used in many different industries, including, for example, the automotive, agricultural and transport industries.
