EN ISO 11611 Protective clothing for use in welding and allied processes. specifies the minimum basic requirements and test methods for protective clothing, including hoods, aprons, sleeves and gaiters, intended to protect the wearer's body, including the head (hoods) and feet (gaiters) for welders or workers in related operations with similar risks. This type of garment is designed to protect the wearer from molten metal splash, brief contact with a flame, heat radiation from an electric arc used in welding or related processes and minimises the possibility of shock occurring during brief accidental contact
with an electrical conductor at up to 100 volts, under normal conditions and during welding.
EN ISO 11612 Protective clothing -- Garments for protection against heat and flame - Minimum performance requirements. Requirements are specified for protective clothing made of flexible materials intended to protect the wearer's body, excluding the hands, against hot agents and/or flame. The performance requirements given in this International Standard apply to protective clothing that can be worn over a wide range of target uses, where clothing with flame-reducing properties is needed and where the wearer may be exposed to radiant heat, convective or contact heat, or molten metal splashes
