Providing adequate protection for the feet and legs has a decisive impact, first and foremost on safety at work, but also on comfort. Footwear with protective features is designed to protect the wearer's feet against injuries that could occur during accidents.Footwear can protect the foot against mechanical, chemical, harmful heat, cold or moisture. Footwear will most often protect against several types of hazards at the same time. The degree of protection depends mainly on the construction of the footwear, the materials used and the features such as: toe caps, anti-puncture inserts, ankle protection, etc. Footwear which does not have protective features and is only intended for use in the workplace for hygienic reasons cannot be considered as PPE, but only as work footwear.
